Do I need thermal clothing if I am spending the year in Montreal? - thermal gloves
Thermal underwear? Socks? Coat? Sweat? Shoes? Gloves?
All have both?
If so, you should buy when you get there, or buy locally and me?

If you spend the winter .. I recommend buying there, and usually a good choice depending on local temperature. You can low rates in the spring (end of season clearance) and in the fall to get () are new collections.
It also depends where you come from (what used to the cold), and what to do ... Winter, when I had to Canada with a good coat, gloves, scarf and hat, my past, ex (I walk) + 2 hours just for the fun of it sworn to by the sub - thermal underwear and ski jackets, double isolated ... And one of my friend is Moroccan layers at 4.5, the duration of time during the winter.
Montreal is cold - ice storms, etc. --- if you need good warm clothes, even on the head.
Thermal underwear are great if you like (the cups are nice, but I think the bottom of bulky and too hot when they are in)), as well as other products.
If you need to buy in Montreal, a very good choice and competitive prices.
--- And you can skate, ski, snowshoe, snowboard, hockey, and so on. Enjoy.

for the winter, a warm jacket, long socks, gloves, use gloves, hat and scarf is a must on most days, but thermal underwear is optional, depending on how cold it is.
